The City of Calgary's Summer jobs program returns

Calgary city council has voted to bring back it's summer jobs program to help curb the youth unemployment rate.

The  program helps youth in Calgary get work to gain experience.

According to Statistics Canada, Calgary’s youth unemployment rate for 15 to 24 years olds sits just above 10 per-cent.

The program is expected to make its full return in the summer of 2020.

The city originally cut the summer jobs program to save money in the budget.
