Man missing after tractor breaks through ice on Peace River

RCMP in High Level continue to look for a man who went through ice on Tuesday.

The man was driving a tractor across the Peace River near Carcajou with family members following him in pick-up trucks.

The 64-year-old made it to the three-quarter mark of crossing the river when the tractor disappeared through the ice, into the river.

It is still unknown as to why the family was driving their vehicles across the river.

Police say the man was a resident of La Crete, his name will not be released.
