“The school is safe, and all other students and staff are safe. Classes will resume as normal in the afternoon,” said Joanna French, communications specialist for the CCSD

A boy is recovering at the Alberta Children's Hospital after he was stabbed at Father Lacombe High School in the city’s southeast Thursday morning.

Officers say they received calls around 11 a.m. and placed the school under lockdown upon arrival.

EMS transported the boy to the Hospital in stable condition “with a soft tissue injury.”

No other injuries have been reported at this time.

CPS said the suspect is in custody.
