Airdrie RCMP arrest one man following incident where neighbors were told to shelter-in-place

People living at Ravenskirk Road S.E., Ravenskirk Close S.E., Ravenskirk Heath S.E. and Ravenswynd Rise S.E. were asked to stay inside their homes.

 

On Monday afternoon, Airdrie RCMP issued a shelter-in-place order due to a heavy police presence on Ravenskirk Road and Yankee Valley Boulevard.

It started when Airdrie RCMP received calls at around 3:30 p.m. about a man “acting in an erratic manner” and allegedly committing assaults at a home, where Police said firearms present.

The Alberta RCMP Emergency Response Team was on the scene, and then the man was taken into custody.

Airdrie RCMP continue to investigate.
