Earlier this year, the City of Lethbridge’s Fee Assistance program, aimed at supporting residents facing financial barriers, expanded to include both recreation and culture activities as well as bus passes.
Starting August 1, the program will expand again, incorporating the existing Refugee Bus Pass program and Access-A-Ride options.
Those residents with refugee status can now apply to the City’s Fee Assistance Program to get 2/3 of their transit fares covered.
Like other Fee Assistance participants, refugees will now pay for the first month of their bus pass and receive the next two months for free.
Participants need prior approval to be eligible for the program. This can be done online or by contacting the City of Lethbridge Fee Assistance team.
Those applying/re-applying for a bus pass or Access-a-Ride trips through the Fee Assistance Program must use the online application process or call 311.
