The Metis Education Foundation, through the Rupertsland Institute, has provided a gift of $950,000 in support of Métis students attending SAIT.
SAIT vice president, Heather Magotiaux, said this fund will provide a huge boost to all the Métis students.
“Of course there is the financial support. Which is important to students, the ability to be able to focus on your studies and to know that your tuition and books and living expenses are covered,” Magotiaux said.
Magotiaux said this shows students that someone is investing in their future and recognizes the importance of education.
Nearly 250 Métis students that attend SAIT that will be positively affected by the funding.
