Two men were arrested and charged in connection to his June 16 disappearance
The remains of Sturgeon Lake resident Barry Goodswimmer were found on June 30 in a rural area near Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation.
An autopsy by the Edmonton medical examiner confirmed the death was a homicide.
Last month, two men were charged in relation to Goodswimmer’s killing, despite there being no body at that time.
Allan Hamelin, 22, and Harlin Martineau, 39, both of Sturgeon Lake, were charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping and assault with a weapon.
The case is now before the Grande Prairie provincial court.
