Cochrane Library to host Indigenous Author Celebration

"Hosting an event like the Indigenous Author Celebration is so important as we, as a country, move towards reconciliation. Truly, any opportunity we have to celebrate diverse voices, particularly in Canadian Literature, is time well spent! It is a wonderful chance for the public to come and learn from these incredible authors, and for some really great conversations to happen."

The Cochrane Public Library is hosting an Indigenous Author Celebration later this month.

The day will consist of stories, inspiration and incredible talks from four talented authors, including Richard Van Camp, Aaron Paquette, Diana Frost and Trent Fox.

The author celebration will be held on Feb. 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Links of Gleneagles.

Breakfast will be served at this free event and rides offered to residents of Morley.

Registration is required for the event as well as for the transportation.

There will also be a movie screening the day before on Feb. 21, from 6-8 p.m. at the Library of the film Three Feathers, based on Van Camp’s graphic novel of the same name.

Tickets for the Indigenous Author Celebration are free but space is limited.  To register, click here
