City of Lethbridge looking for artists to participate in mural pilot project

“Murals help add vibrancy to the community by activating public spaces, promoting community expression, and deterring graffiti vandalism"

Artists in Lethbridge are being encouraged to join a new mural pilot project to spread some vibrancy and community expression around the city.

Interested artists, who have experience in community-based art, are encouraged to apply online, so they can be paired up with building owners who want to enhance their facilities with exterior murals.

Applications must be submitted by March 19, 2021.

The City says this pilot program will be used to inform future decisions about the development of an established mural program.

Artists who do not currently live in Lethbridge but have previous ties to the community are welcome to submit. Those selected will be matched with building owners who showed interest in the project during the first phase last year.

The deadline is March 19, 2021.

Questions can be directed to the City of Lethbridge Public Art Committee at publicart@lethbridge.ca.
