Calgary is Getting a New Drive-In Concert Venue

"It will feature a cutting-edge semi-trailer covered stage, with surround sound, three large LED screens will project the action on stage under the stars and with the Rockies Mountains as the backdrop."

A new drive-in is opening to host concerts, graduations, theatre and other live performances.

The Grey Eagle Drive-In will open May 1 on the west side of the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino, off Glenmore Trail and Strathcona Street S.W.

Organizers say the drive-in will include a state of the art stage, large LED screens and surround sound which can be played through your car’s radio.

“We are super excited to carry on the reputation rolling into this spring with our new Grey Eagle Drive-In, showcasing an incredible outdoor live event experience. Guests have an opportunity to eat, play, stay and enjoy a variety of entertainment, in support of charities on the beautiful Tsuut’ina Nation,” said Kevin Yates, general manager of the Hotel & Event Centre at Grey Eagle Resort and Casino.

The venue can accommodate more than 200 vehicles and some people staying at the resort will be able to see the show from their rooms.

The drive-in scheduled to open May 1, with a concert line up announced soon.
