The meeting comes after Calgary, Banff, Okotoks, Lethbridge and Edmonton passed mandatory mask bylaws

Despite being on a summer break, Airdrie council members have scheduled a special meeting for Tuesday afternoon to discuss the possibility of their community mandating Masks.

There are now 22 active cases of COVID-19 in Airdrie.

After receiving many calls, emails, and social media messages, Mayor Peter Brown decided to call council together for a meeting to discuss the topic of masks. It will take place today at 1 p.m. and the live stream can be viewed HERE.

The public in Airdrie are also being asked to provide feedback and thoughts on the issue by submitting letters to legislative.services@airdrie.ca
