Each year, the City of Edmonton, together with the Confederacy of Treaty No. 6 First Nations, hosts Treaty No. 6 Recognition Day at City Hall.

The call is going out for the next gifts to be exchanged at this year’s Treaty No. 6 Recognition Day. The gifts will be presented to the outgoing grand chief, current grand chief and the mayor of Edmonton and are a symbol of their commitment to collaboration, respectful dialogue and exploring shared opportunities.
Anyone living within Treaty No. 6 territory (in and around Edmonton), both Indigenous and non-Indigenous, is eligible to submit a fine and decorative art piece. This can include drawings, paintings, photography, small sculpture, print-makings, folk art, and/or traditional handicrafts, or any combination.
The competition is open to amateur and seasoned artists.
Winning Submission will receive $500.
Submission deadline is Aug. 9
Treaty No. 6 Recognition Day will take place Aug. 23 at City Hall in Edmonton
