Friday, October 4th

Event Summary

Join NITAWAHSINNANNI-OUR LANDS: Indigenous Service Learning on Friday, October 4, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., at Mount Royal University, (Room J301 Lincoln Park 4825 Mt Royal Gate SW).

The main objective of this networking forum is to invite dialogue on the emerging area of Indigenous Service Learning (ISL) as part of our decolonizing efforts.

Participants will learn with Elders who have extensive experience with health, higher education and community partnerships; explore and analyze how interconnection with Our Lands and Indigenous Knowledges are integral to ISL by co-learning through two-eyed seeing and two-way teaching and learning; network with students, staff, faculty, leadership and community members to share relevant experiences and build capacity; and design priorities for service, teaching and learning, research and community connections.
