Sunday, September 29th
Pokaiks is to honour the children of the past who suffered through the residential school system and the Sixties Scoop as well as to support the children of today for the children of tomorrow.
This event will start at Rouleauville Plaza with a smudge ceremony and then we will walk together to honour residential school and Sixties Scoop survivors and to remember those we lost.
We will walk to the Central Memorial Park where we will have an event dedicated to the children aimed at building knowledge, sharing and connection through the arts. It will include performances and participative workshops by Indigenous artists, an artisan fair, an Indigenous community fair to share available programs, blanket exercises and much more.
